Editing does not happen at "The End" but happens before you write one word.
This course will not only change the way you view what editing is, but will introduce you to ways of editing that work with your personal style and not against it. Every genre is different, every author's voice as unique as singers. Many editing blogs, articles, and tips can truly be helpful...in That genre or for That author. Not everything works for everyone, and here you will find ideas, tips, and learn how to use online tools, all of which can be used YOUR way.
However, this course is not designed to be run through quickly. Students of The NonBox's Self-Editing for Fiction Authors course need to be willing to learn, think, ponder ... maybe in slightly painful ways. Growth isn't easy, but it will be so worth it.
While it is true there are rules in writing, editing, and the English language that must be followed, this course has is designed to help you know what rules to break and when. Pushing literary boundaries does not come quickly, but inside this course, you will find how to best serve your stories, your way.

With over 25 years of "non corporate" editing experience--and nearly as long being a writer--a day job of teaching English, editing and reviewing for InD'tale Magazine, and having braved the world of Indie self-publishing, Julie knows a bit about a few things. She has a BA in English, with an MFA in Media Design, 5 kids, 2 dogs, and a million side jobs.
At her core, Julie is a teacher. Even inside her fiction books there are always life lessons to be learned. When Julie discovered online course building, the heavens opened and angels sang. OK. Not quite that. But her greatest disappointment in being a teacher with a brain stuffed full of knowledge, is that she had so little ability to travel the world and teach everyone everything she has upstairs in her gray matter.
With teaching about editing and writing, she knows that something in this course, and most likely several somethings, will resonate with everyone everywhere.
